Barbie Gag's over GaGa

Just when you think Barbie has re-made the fashion scene with the Louboutin inspired Barbie; as well as self proclaimed Barbie Nicki Minaj. Barbie now goes eccentric when Barbie goes Gaga. The pop sensation Lady Gaga is known for her catchy dance music and eccentric style, ranging from pant less getups to blinding face masks to the quirky, tied-with-a-bow hairdo.

Photographer Weikang Lu re-created the singer’s bold outfits for dolls in hopes of sharing his appreciation for fashion with other doll lovers.

There is no secret that Lady Gaga definitely has her own personal style. She is an innovator in her own right; some of her styles are definitely out there and not for every day traditional style. But the saying “The clothes makes the man” does not apply for her. Gaga makes the clothes. She adds elegance with her style; if she is not performing on stage she found the time to create an outfit for the Queen. Although it is not for everybody she is not ashamed of her personal style and always keeps us guessing as to what she will wear next.

I believe Mattel must approve her style with recreating her look for the Gaga Barbie. I have a feeling that the Gaga inspired Barbie will be flying off of the shelves for all of the Gaga lovers.

I personally like the Barbie with the bow.

What do you think of the new Barbie? Check out the other looks!!

Louboutin for Barbie?

Christian Louboutin paints every celebrity’s soles red, but perhaps the most legendary girl yet is going to be Barbie.

The master of fabulous footwear, Christian Louboutin has joined forces with the original fashionsita every young girl inspires to be Barbie. The perfect pair! He has created a glamorous line of limited edition dolls. Launching this December 2009 as part of a dedicated Barbie collector's set, Cat-burglar Barbie looks ultra-fashion forward in a sleek hooded black cat-suit and has the choice of four of Louboutin's statement red-soled heels to wear (each pair comes with its own box and red velvet shoe bag) The first in a series of three, she comes complete with a chic collectable calendar which follows the duo's fashion-filled travels. The designer launches an exclusive line for Barbie available only at Net-A-Porter.

Wow! Barbie has definitely come back with a expensive fashion filled suitcase. Well I guess if you can not afford Louboutin’s you can defiantly grab this collector’s edition Barbie for a whopping $150.00. I remember when I was little getting the Barbie car and dream house was the thing I would have never imagined getting a Barbie with the ultimate designer shoe!! Young girls today and defiantly going to have expensive taste especially when Barbie is wearing shoes that can be more than some one’s monthly income!

Well as usual Louboutin in an innovator in his own right and I think that his originality needs to be admired.

One Size Fits All

So who says that being a size “2” is the “It” factor; well as we all know the media and Hollywood has an array of models and actresses that do almost anything to have that skinny figure. But the question that needs to be asked ‘Is it Realistic?’ The answer to that question is “NO”.

For example our urban culture of how we are naturally shaped will not allow for all of us to be a size “2”. In the 70s and 80s being a size 12 was considered an average size for a woman but now it is considered ‘Plus Size’. But is being an average, realistic and healthy size make you less fierce and fabulous? Most definitely not!

Plus sized model Crystal Renn took matters in her own hands. She is featured in V Magazine challenging this stereo type by creating her one size fits all photo shoot. Crystal Renn alongside Jacquelyn Jablonski is testing the waters to prove that size does not matter. In identical looks and similar poses; both ladies stand five-foot-nine, with Renn's dimensions of 36-31-41, while Jablonski with the traditional model body-type are 32-24-34.

Renn told the AP in an interview, "I'd like to see everyone take on the attitude that there are women of all different shapes and sizes as 'the beauty ideal,' and that it's not one type or another. There are women who are naturally a size 2--you can't forget them, and that's discrimination the other way. All women bring something different to the table and we have to appreciate them all."

Crystal Renn has certainly taking a stand against stereo types and has proved that the “average size” is not only beautiful but Fierce and Fabulous as a well. See for yourself with the pictures from the spread above. (Which one looks better to you?)

“Girls just want to have fun”

Fashionista’s,

I guess “Girls just want to have fun” this upcoming spring! MAC is going introduce the two most eccentric artists of the last two decades to head up their new campaign!

Picture taken by photographer Ellen von Unwerth; Lady Gaga is all glammed up for her new ad with Cyndi Lauper for MAC's Viva Glam Spring 2010 campaign, to debut in February. Each songstress will tout her own new shade of lipstick, Viva Glam Gaga and Viva Glam Cyndi. The product won't hit stores until March 18th, so you'll have to wait until then to have Gaga lip color. Cyndi & Gaga also were named the newest faces of the M.A.C AIDS Fund for the "From Our Lips” campaign a few months back.

The MAC AIDS fund, which has raised over $150 million since 1994. Previous spoke models of the MAC AIDS fund include Fergie, Pamela Anderson, Christina Aquilera, Missy Elliot and Chole Sevigny.

There is something to definitely look forward to this up coming spring. With these two fashion forward diva’s I would imagine that the new line will be innovative, original and unique; with bright colors with a 80s flair to match. As the release date approaches I will keep you posted.

As always stay sweet!

The Pretty Woman is back...

Hello Fashionista’s

Any one that is into beauty and film will know of the original pretty woman Julia Roberts. This graceful diva is slowly winning our hearts once again but in a different way.

Julia Roberts may love being a wife and a mother, but this Oscar-winning actress is more than ready to get back to work. Since 1988 this beautiful gem has definitely graced the silver screen now this Pretty Woman has succumbed to the charms of the beauty industry: Julia Roberts, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, has been tapped as the “global ambassadress” for Lancôme.

After taking some time off to be with her family, at 41 this mother of three (twins Hazel and Finn are four; and Henry 2), Roberts is back in the spot light after releasing two films she has decided to take the beauty industry by storm. Roberts is not unfamiliar with the beauty industry. After being titled “Pretty Woman” from her 1990 film with Richard Gere; she stated in Allure magazine March 09 issue “The more organic and individual you can make anything the better; the key to beauty is always to be looking at someone who loves you, really”.

It is no wonder that this charming actress is heading for the make up line because they are paying the big bucks! Roberts, who is said to command salaries over $20 million for her acting projects; she could command a beauty salary close to her acting paydays. I mean, she could have done this deal year’s ago for millions. I can’t imagine a situation where Julia and her children aren’t set for life.

Now apart of the movement of top-tier stars into beauty; this began when the celebrity fragrance trend started to gain traction in 2001 with Jennifer Lopez’s Glow by J.Lo, which did upwards of $100 million at retail globally in its first year on counter. In February 2002, Catherine Zeta-Jones signed a spokeswoman deal with Elizabeth Arden, and the star race was on. It now includes Cate Blanchett promoting Procter & Gamble Co.’s SK-II skin care line; Halle Berry representing both makeup at Revlon and her own fragrances at Coty Beauty; Beyonce for Revlon and Loreal; Rihanna for Cover Girl; Queen Latifiah for her own line Queen Collection with Cover Girl; Kate Winslet as the face of Lancôme’s Tresor fragrance, and even men such at Brad Pitt partnering with Kiehl’s. As Zeta-Jones told WWD in March 2008, “Things have completely changed. It used to be, if you’re an actor, why are you selling stuff? People only used to do it in Japan. But beauty is an industry that makes complete sense for an actress.”

Man... I love this beauty industry. I can’t wait to see the reveal of this new line with their new spokeswoman. Roberts has a beautiful bone structure and full lips to match. With her skin tone she can pull off natural and edgy looks. I wonder which direction Lancôme will take this. Stay tuned for the updates of the release.

Fantasy Couture 2009

Hello again Divas,

As many of us know it is the fall season of October that comprises of different looks and costumes. But have you ever thought of designing your eye makeup in a way that is not the norm. Our eyes are the focal point of our facial features. Our eyes are the main dominator that can determine if we look sick, plain or upset; anything you can imagine our eyes tell it all. But have you ever thought of taking your eyes to create a look of illusion or Fantasy?

I have came up with my own signature look titled "Fantasy Couture” with my muses Dynessa Myricks and even Beyonce; you can design your eyes to simulate animal characteristics. Even if you are very conservative person you to can experiment with different looks and still come across classy and stylish. The idea is not just to make a statement with your eyes but comes across classy and fierce while doing so. This look can be worn in any setting from a distance you can look like a golden goddess and up close people can see the intricate detailing of your eyes.

So stand our and be noticed when hitting the parties this weekend!!

Wedding Trends for Fall

Here comes the bride....

So fashionistas your coming close to that special day but there's only one problem your getting married during the fall.

What to do?!?

The key is to be an individual and you will accomplish this by stepping outside of the box on your special day. Typically brides have the misconception that their makeup must be bright with a lot of rose, pink and blush colors. Although there is nothing wrong with "looking" like the blushing bride; the key it to always stand out and be FIERCE on your wedding day.

Have you ever thought of adding the Smokey Eye as the bride's makeup of choice? Many of you may say, "A Smokey Eye? I am not going to the club on my wedding day!" But there is more than one way to accomplish the sexy and sultry look of the smokey eye in a clean and elegant way.

For the fall bride you can add natural and brown tones to your special day. Not only will you be in fashion with the latest trends but you will be all the rage of your friends on your special day. By using clean lines and superior blending you can take a edgy look and re-create it with a timeless and classy look.

Another unique feature for your special day is instead of adding the typical "french" manicure/Pedicure you can easily add mauve, dark brown and even black as your nail polish of choice. You can create your own signature look with the darker colors of fall and balance it with beautiful ivory and cream textures. Also adding a beautiful colorful bouquet will really balance out your fall decor.

So remember ladies think outside the box! You can create your own signature look even at your wedding day and also be stylish while your doing it!

As always stay fabulous and sweet!

Love
